ABOUT ME
Hi! It’s good to connect with you. I am happy you’re here.
I’m Noor Manal Ahmed, a second-year medical student and formerly, a homeless outreach worker — specializing in street & field medicine.
I was born in California, lived there until I was 10 and then my family moved to Qatar. I spent 8 of my most formative years there, before returning to the states for undergrad. I graduated in 2018 with a B.S. in Psychology from the University of California, Davis. Today, I attend medical school at LECOM and I live in Pittsburgh, PA with my senior cat (and best friend) Peri.
My education, in and out of the field, has moved me to advance health and social equity for people who are marginalized and deserving of more prosperous, dignified lives. I plan to use this space as a personal blog and portfolio. I’ve been writing for myself for years, but I’m now more seriously exploring what that could look like as a tool for advocacy. I suppose I’ve been free-styling my medical career ever since I decided to pursue it, and I think I’ve only just begun…
I have a few long-term goals:
To return to the field as a street psychiatrist.
To write, write, and write as much as I can.
To make more art, create more joy, and live more meaningfully.
You are more than welcome to connect with me on –
